This was never supposed to be a record. NOFX got popular in the mid 90's so mystic records took both seven inchers and
put them out on a cd with a bunch of demo songs. It's a totally sucky record and the artwork totally bites. We had no control
over any of it. In fact we didn't know it was coming out until I saw one in a store. If you want to hear a totally crappy
fucked album then this is the one for you. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Recorded in 88 by Brett Gurewitz in 3 days at west beach recorders. We we're all stoked cause we got to meet Brett from
bad religion. He asked us if we wanted to put the record out on epitaph, but we wanted to put it out ourselves. What a mistake.
It took almost a year to sell 1500 copies at 4 bucks a piece, and we only got paid for half. We ended up giving the record
to epitaph like 5 years later with a new cover. I wouldn't say this record sucks, but it's still pretty hard to listen to.

14. the malachi crunch
Once again we went back to west beach with Brett. This record took 12 days. For some reason we were playing a lot of chess
during the recording. I swear every 20 minutes me and Brett would play a game of speed chess, and then mix another song. This
record was important. It was the first nofx record that people actually liked. I think we finally got our sound. We took a
little bad religion, di, rkl, and came up with the nofx sound. Now when we went on tour, people showed up and enjoyed themselves.
It was weird. No one really liked us very much before. So right when we started getting popular, our guitarist Steve quit
to join a rock band. Oh well, that's when we got El Hefe. This record sold 8000 copies the first year. That was a lot. Flipside
liked this one.

Back to West Beach with Donnel Cameron. I don't remember that much about this album. Erik had just quit heroin and he
was still sick. Two days after we finished, Erik checked himself into a rehab and stayed there for two months. That was 7
years ago and he has been totally sober ever since. Cool. He won't even eat chicken if it has wine sauce on it. He made it
clear that NOFX was more important to him than drugs. Anyway, I don't remember how long this album took, but I do remember
it took me a fuck of a long time to sing. Standard.

So we wanted to go back in to West Beach with Donnel, but it turns out now he's in rehab, and obviously is in no shape
to record us. So Mr. Brett tells me to call his friend Ryan Greene. So I call Ryan and he records what is probably our best
record. It turns out Ryan has really long hair and knows a lot of metal bands, but he's pretty cool anyway. We record at west
beach, but mix at EMI. This record takes about 3 weeks, which is about as long as we've ever spent on any record. We had a
bunch of weird people come in to play steel drums and flaminco guitar and stuff. We covered a Mark Curry song too, which a
lot of people don't know. (Perfect Government) . This record turned out to be our best selling record. Without any radio or
video play, it ended up going gold. Pretty neat.

So, we book three nights at the Roxy in Hollywood for a live album. The first night we get totally wasted. It was hella
fun. We listen to the tape the next day. It sucks hard. Total disaster. The next night we get a little drunk and it turned
out the best. We used some of the jokes from each night, but the music was pretty much all from the second night. Alright,
this is getting totally boring. This came out on fat. That's all.

12. august 8th
13. drop the world
We recorded this with Ryan Greene up in San Francisco at Razors Edge. A total dive. It was actually just an apartment
with a studio in the garage, but it was cool. Weird record. I thought it was the coolest record when we finished it, but a
few months later I wasn't so sure. Some of those songs are kinda weird. I like the cover a lot though. I think it sold well
in Belgium.

1997-So long and thanks for all the shoes

13. the desperation's gone
14. flossing a dead horse
15. quart in session
16. falling in love
This was recorded in sf. With Ryan Greene at motor studios. A nice place to record a punk record. The title is not referring
to Airwalk or Vans, it is from a Douglas Adams book called, "so long and thanks for all the fish". We tend to get
hit with a lot of shoes when we play so we thought it was a good title. It's not our last album. Nate from the bosstones came
by and played guitar on a couple songs. That was pretty cool. We kinda went for more of an old school sound on this record.
More hardcore than the previous one. I like it. Favorite song-desperation's gone. Too bad about ska getting mainstream, I
don't think I wanna play it anymore.

2000-Pump up the valuum

14. theme from a nofx album
This album took fuckin' forever, even longer than decline. we started in december of 99 and finished in february 00. of
course we took the holidays off and we went on a three week tour in jan. we recorded like 22 songs, but we scrapped 8 of them.
we'll finish them some other time. the title track "pump up the valuum" got cut from the album. that's wierd. we
gave it to epitaph for punk o rama 5. there's another song called "san francisco fat" that is gonna go on the next
fat comp. the vinyl on the album is clear, and limited to some number. i guess a lot of the songs on this record are about
drugs. i guess that's because we like drugs and like singin' about them even more. well our drummer doesn't like them so much.
he did so much of em he had to quit seven years ago. but he's not writing the lyrics. am i rambling, i feel like i'm rambling,
any way, i like this album. there's no ska, no reggae, no jazz, just punk and punk and a little polka. i don't feel the need
to ever play a ska song again, but ya never know. yes, i definitely think i am rambling.

09. bob
10. don't call me white
11. brews
12. vanilla sex
It was BYO's idea to do this thing, but it was Lint's idea to do each others songs, and that's what this thing is. Rancid
doing 6 NOFX songs and NOFX doing 6 Rancid songs. I think it turned out pretty good. We spent way more time in the studio
than we should of. Like 2 weeks I think, but we recorded 6 new NOFX songs too. Those will be on our new album I guess. I didn't
try to do Matt's bass riffs cuz they're too hard to figure out. We also changed a few chord progressions here and there cuz,
why the hell not. We didn't change any lyrics though, well just a few by mistake. It's actually pretty hard to make out what
Lint sings on Corazon de Oro. I gave it my best shot.

Putting 47 songs together for an album is easy. Hardest part was finding the tapes. That took a few months. We did record
that one new song Pimps and Hookers, but that only took a day. The hard thing was putting together 32 pages of liner notes.
That took me weeks and they're not even that good. I can only hope that some people might be interested in me rambling on
about nothing. Some of the pictures are pretty cool though. You know me writing this now is kinda dumb cuz I cover all this
shit in the fuckin CD. So you're better off just reading it there. Good luck it's long.
